Report: There are 3000 Child Soldiers in India

A report released by last week by the Delhi-based Asian Centre for Human Rights (ACHR) found that there are currently as many as 3000 child soldiers in India. The report has been brought to the attention of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.

“The recruitment of child soldiers is rampant and hundreds of children remain involved in the conflicts,” the report says. However, the Indian Government denies the existence of any child soldiers.

  1. The photograph displayed is not of Indian children. To be very precise, they are child soldiers belonging to the banned terrorist outfit of Sri Lanka and ie: LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam).
