Europe Day (9 May) celebrates peace and unity in Europe. The date marks the anniversary of the historical ‘Schuman declaration‘, says the EU web portal.

To me, Europe Day is less about political projects and more about freedom of movement.
As a student having queued my way into Western Europe waiting in front of Embassies for visas and queuing along at frontiers for hours and hours before Romania officially entered the EU in 2007,
I can certainly appreciate what freedom of movement is for students and regular ordinary citizens from Eastern EU countries.
Peace and unity – what I would wish for not just Europe but for all of us.
It’s achievable if only more would wish that.
I’m agree with you, Cristina.
Thank you!
